Greetings Band Parents and Mac Band Supporters,
The Band will be heading to downtown Portland this Saturday – here’s the link to the Starlight Parade Itinerary Parents are welcome to travel with the group or drive up separately. Please let us know if you would like to help out in any way. NOTE: If you want to walk with the band, you must be listed as a Chaperone. Email Mr. Barton to add your name to the list.
Band members must be at rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday if they will be participating in the Starlight Parade.
We will be fitting the band with uniforms during rehearsals and could use your help. It’s fun and easy! Please click here to add your name to the list. Note: With the Patton concert also happening on Thursday, we may be fitting uniforms for the Patton 8th Graders around 5:30. We’ll let you know as more details become available.

Fall Marching Show Reveal
Your student should have received the information about the upcoming Fall Marching Show, but just in case you haven’t seen it, click here to access it from the Mac Band website. You can find the updated version of the Band Parent Handbook there as well. We’re still getting the online calendar updated with summer and fall dates, so look for that over the next couple of weeks.

New T-shirt Design!
This year’s parade music for the high school band is “Believer” by Imagine Dragons and that is the inspiration for the new t-shirt you can buy to show your support for this great group (the Mac Band that is;)

5th Grade Performance
Here’s a photo from last Tuesday’s 5th Grade Band Concert. It was exciting to see so many parents filling the Patton Gym and supporting these young musicians. The students did a fantastic job playing all the traditional beginning band pieces and let’s hope they keep playing throughout their middle and high school years!

Patton Band/Choir Concert – Thursday, May 30th @ 7:00 p.m. in the Patton Middle School Gym.

High School Band Concert – Tuesday, June 4th @ 7:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. This concert will feature the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and the Concert Band with the 8th grade band members from Duniway and Patton.
Hands Camp – Saturday, June 22nd at Banks High School. Affinity Indoor, an Independent Indoor Marching Ensemble (you may have seen them at the Winter Percussion competitions), will host their first annual “HANDS” camp and interactive day session for rudimental percussionists. This is a great opportunity for percussionists of any skill level to work on techniques, speed, and stick tricks. More details and registration can be found here. Need a ride to the camp?
