News – March 21, 2021

Greetings Band Parents and Mac Band Supporters,

Thanks to a successful Bottle and Can Drive in Lafayette and pallet loads of returnables from Recology, there is almost no room left in the band trailer to put any more. But we’re going to figure something out because this Saturday (March 27th) is another Bottle and Can Drive. We’ll be back in McMinnville again for this one (Incahoots parking lot, 905 NE Baker St). We are experimenting with a shorter time frame and this week’s collection will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

We are also experimenting with shorter volunteer time slots. These are just one hour each (and of course, you can sign up for more than one shift if you like.) Here’s the link to the sign up sheet.

One of our biggest needs right now is for drivers to take bags of bottles and cans to Oregon Bottle Drop locations. Jamie has been our contact person for this and if you are able to help, please contact her through the band’s facebook page, or reply to this email and I’ll have her contact you. THANKS!

Looking Towards a ‘Normal’ Fall
It’s that time of year that we need to start thinking about band parent leadership for the next school year. As we have in the past, we will be conducting elections online this spring. In the meantime, think about parents you know who would be ready, willing, and able to be a part of the board. Maybe this is even you! More election information to follow in the coming weeks.

Happy Spring! See you at the Bottle Drive,
Brian Bailey
