News – August 1, 2021

Greetings Band Parents and Mac Band Supporters,

Band Camp starts tomorrow morning and we are looking forward to the band finally being able to get back on the field. There’s going to be a bit of a learning curve for a lot of the kids, but we’re confident they will rise to the challenge!

We’re also confident that the band parents (which includes you) will rise to the challenge. The challenge being – keeping the kids fed and watered for the next few days. In case you missed it, I’ve included Owen’s message from a few days ago. Please click on the link to find out what you can do to help support the kids.

A Message from the President (Owen)
It is hard to believe that Band Camp is next week!!! Please click on the link if you’re able to volunteer in any way. If you sign up to bring snacks or water, please keep your receipts so that the McMinnville Band Parent Organization (MBPO) can reimburse you. Snack recommendations include: granola bars, fruit and cheese sticks. Any help is appreciated. Here’s the link: volunteersignup.org/EQQDY

A Message from the Sponsorship Chair (Jamie)
We NEED some HELP! We have over 160 ($1200) bags of cans and bottles that need to be delivered to bottle drop locations.
I have an appointment for next Thursday 5th and Friday 6th to take 50 bags each time to Tigard. If anyone is able to take the load of 50 on Thursday that would be helpful.
However, we need help taking bags of 10 to various Bottle Drops before then.
If you are going to NEWBERG (Fred Meyer), SALEM (various Bottle Drop locations) TIGARD (Bottle Drop near Bull Mountain Road off Highway 99) WILSONVILLE (Safeway), MONMOUTH (Roths) or DALLAS (Safeway) and can fit at least 10 bags (10 fit in a Prius) in your vehicle can you please let me know so we can meet and get you the bags.
The bags are in the band trailer and we need to get it emptied out to use for the upcoming band season. Let me know or contact Brian at Incahoots (text 907-901-6477) he has a key to the trailer as well.
You are welcome to text me at 541-910-2814 to coordinate a time to get some bags.
You can just grab 10 and then take them when you are going to one of the locations nearby.

Where to Find Information
Remember that you can find answers to your Band Camp questions by visiting the MacBand website. And as always, if you don’t find what you’re looking for, send us an email.

Here’s to a great season,
