Greetings Band Parents and Mac Band Supporters,
Background Check Update
There is a new procedure for background checks for school volunteers. We need to create a list of parents (and guardians) who will be helping with the Marching Band this season. The list will be submitted to the school and the school will then email the parents a link to The Criminal History Verification Form. The form is completed online and only takes a few minutes. After the form is submitted, it will be reviewed and you will be notified once you are approved.
If you are planning on helping with the Marching Band in any way, please respond to this email and we will add your name to the list. Thanks!
Uniform Fitting on Tuesday
The kids are really excited about getting their new uniforms. Sheri and Marsé did all the measurements last Thursday. Mr. Barton, Byron, and Brian organized the uniforms on Friday, and on Tuesday, September 14, the kids will get to try them on. We need 4 (or more) parents to help with this. We will start at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and will hopefully be finished before rehearsal starts at 6:00 p.m. Please text me at 209-658-0152 if you’re able to help, or just show up.
Upcoming Events – Please See Changes
Our next parent meeting will be September 14, 2021, at 7:00pm. We will meet outside the band room door and then find a place to sit inside. On the agenda will be meal and logistics preparations for the competitions in October…
We recently found out that we can not do the tail-gate party potluck style. We appreciate those who have signed up, and apologize for any inconvenience. The tailgate party is still on but the band parent organization will provide pizza and drinks. If you would like, you can bring a dessert to share or other side item. It has to be a prepackaged item from a store.
We will have another pregame tailgate party on October 7 where we will also invite band member alumni. The alumni will have the opportunity to play music in the stands during the game as well. It’s fun to watch who still has all the music memorized. More info to come in future e-mails.
Bottle Drive
Someone will continue to be by the band trailer before each band rehearsal until the trailer is empty. The season is right around the corner, so we need the trailer empty to get it ready to haul equipment to the competitions.
Where to Pay Band Fees
Band fees are to be paid directly to the High School. The fee for this year is $200. NOTE: Students who have been with the band program for a while, may have a credit towards this year’s fee. Please check with the bookkeeper at the high school.
