Winter Guard Finals
The Winter Guard season wraps up on Saturday with the NWAPA Guard Championships at Liberty High School in Hillsboro. McMinnville will perform in the preliminary round at 11:52 a.m. and again in the finals which are scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. There are 33 teams either competing or exhibiting and it’s the finals, so it should be a day of great performances. You can check out the complete schedule right here.

Spring Cleaning
Progress continues on the remodeling of the high school with big changes scheduled to start this week. On Saturday, all the band equipment that had been stored in the former wood shop was moved out in preparation of the arrival of the construction crews. It will be an interesting few months, but according to the plans, the band and choir rooms will be remodeled and ready when school starts again this fall.

If you’re curious as to all the construction details, there’s a wealth of information on this school district page. And remember that 17th street is due for major changes and all students will now have to enter through the main entrance.

Have a great spring break,
Brian Bailey
