A Fun Finish to the Year

The band concert season wrapped up last Tuesday, but I probably don’t need to tell you that since you were likely in the audience. The Jazz Band got the evening started and after a bit of shuffling chairs, music stands, and students, the combined Wind Ensemble, Concert Band and 8th Grade Players from both Duniway and Patton squeezed onto the stage and played a set of fun compositions. It’s great to hear a band of that size, they really put out a big sound.

Taking a Break

It’s been a crazy busy spring and the decision has been made to give the band a little break before things start up again in August. So unless something surprising happens, the word is that the band will NOT be participating in the Carlton Fun Days parade this year. That’s sad news for parade goers, but a bit of good news for percussionists who want to attend the ‘Hands’ Percussion Camp which is scheduled for the same day. (see below)
