On the Calendar
I had a chance to speak with Mr Barton the other day and he has been hard at work preparing a tentative Marching Band schedule for the summer and fall. We are hopeful that the show will go on and realize that the health and safety of the students and staff is the number one priority. When we receive more information and guidance from the school district about when rehearsals will be able to start, I’ll be sure to let you know.

And one other calendar note: The UFO Festival and Alien Parade which had been rescheduled to September has now been cancelled.

Bottle Drive Success
Thanks to everyone who brought in their bottles and cans on Saturday. It was a record collection day for the band. After we had over 60 bags filled we lost count and there are still many more to do (big thanks to the Akers Family for doing most of the work!) By my calculations, there should be at least $500 worth of cans and bottles!

If you happen to be heading to Salem, Tigard, or Forest Grove and can take a few bags to a Bottle Drop location, please contact us at [email protected] or 971-901-6477 and we’ll arrange to get the bags to you.

We ran out of bags and tags so we will most likely schedule another day where band students and parents can come help bag and tag the rest of the bottles and cans. Watch for the band parent email for details!

Also, if you have any other (no contact, low contact) fundraising ideas that can be implemented this summer, please let us know.

Happy Make Music Day! Thanks for reading and stay well,
Brian Bailey
