Greetings Band Parents and Mac Band Supporters,
Thanks to everyone who has submitted nominations for officers for the McMinnville Band Parent Organization’s 2108-2019 school year. If you haven’t made your nominations yet, you still have a few more days to do so. Nominations will be accepted until Wednesday August 8, 2018 and voting will be available to the general membership through an online survey from August 9th through 13th.
Please send your nominations to [email protected] with the name of the nominee and the position you are nominating them for. (And yes, you can nominate yourself!) Remember, these are the officers we’ll be electing: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Communications Chair.
Watch your email for a Survey Monkey form on Thursday. This will be the method by which you’ll be able to cast your votes.

Help Us Connect with Incoming Freshmen
Marching season will be kicking into high gear real soon and we want to make sure that everyone has the information they need. If you know any incoming freshman that are planning on being in the band, please ask them if they have been receiving band information this summer. If not, direct them to the Contact page of the macband.net website where they can sign up to receive weekly emails and Remind texts.
And if they are a winds player, they can click on the Students page and get their music for this Fall’s Bollywood marching show.

Friday Concert
Please join us this Friday, August 10th at Incahoots for a concert by some of your favorite local musicians. The concert starts at 7:00 p.m. and will feature Leah Phillips on vocals and guitar, along with the bands Agnes, and Ponderosa. These bands are made up of musicians from the MHS Concert Band, the Jazz Band, and the Twilighters. Incahoots is located at 905 NE Baker and the concert will be outside under the canopy. Some seating is available, but you might want to bring along a lawn chair just in case.

The Next Band Parent Meeting is coming up on Tuesday, August 14th. Once again we’ll be meeting in the Grandhaven library (3200 NE McDonald Lane) – you can enter through the main entrance, turn right and you’ll find us down the hall.
