Greetings Band Parents and Mac Band Supporters,
Since I’ll be seeing all of you on Tuesday evening for the Band Parent Meeting, I’ll keep this email short and sweet.
So first up, there is a Band Parent Meeting this Tuesday, April 10th from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Due to the construction at the high school, we will be meeting in the Freshman Den instead of the band room. Just enter through the main entrance and make a left at the end of the hall. You’ll find the Den straight ahead. We will continue discussing Band Camp plans, the state of our finances, and other timely subjects.
While we’re on the subject of construction, here are a couple of pictures I took early last Wednesday morning of the courtyard.

Summer Camps
If you are thinking about sending your kids to a music camp this summer (other than the Mac Band Camp in August), now is the time to get them registered. Click the names for complete details.
Northwest Band Camps – first camp is June 17 to 23, and the second is June 24 to 30. This camp is for students who have completed 5th grade (with one year of band) through students who have completed 11th grade (entering their senior year).
University of Oregon Summer Music Camps:
Concert Band & Strings Camp – July 9 through 14, for students who are currently completing grades 8-12.
Marching & Leadership Camp – July 16 through 21, for students who are currently completing grades 8-12.
Jazz Improvisation Camp – July 22 through 27, for students who are currently completing grades 7-12.
Mel Brown Jazz Camp – Aug 5 through Aug 11, for students of all levels (13 and younger need a letter of recommendation from a music teacher)

League Band Contest
On Friday the 13th, the MHS Band will be traveling to West Salem High School to participate in the Greater Valley League Band Contest. The band will be leaving MHS at 11:45 a.m. Performance at West Salem High School is at 3:00 p.m. and the band should be home about 6:00 p.m. Concert dress (black and white) is required.
