Greetings BandĀ Parents and Mac Band Supporters,

Experience Day brought some new students to the high school last Saturday to try their hand at quads, snare and bass drums, crashing the cymbals, trying the different sounds of the mallet instruments, and spinning flags and rifles. It was a fun introduction to many of the opportunities available to Marching Band students and it was also a great time to meet some of their parents. This is definitely an event we’ll be putting on the calendar every year.

The Rutherford Challenge Continues
A few dedicated band parents have been focusing their efforts on raising funds to match the challenge offered to us by William Rutherford. We are over the halfway mark, but still have a ways to go (and not too much time) to make it to the $15,000 goal. If you know of someone who may be willing to help fund the band (and have their donation doubled!), all you have to do is ask them. They can easily donate online or offline at MacBand.net. Thanks!

We’re All in This Together
Coming up on Tuesday, May 8th is our next Band Parent Meeting. The focus this time will be on everything you need to know about the Fall Marching season and Marching Band in general. We hope to see all band parents there (this includes current 8th grade band parents). Please plan to join us at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

See you soon,
Brian Bailey
