MBPO Meeting Minutes
April 9, 2024
- Secretary’s Report: All good, no outstanding questions.
- Treasurer’s Report: On hand we have -$29,025.25. Bottle Drop account has $10,876.50. Total amount is -$18,149.05. The estimated remaining expenses are $537.90. Winter Guard still needs to pay $37.90 for transportation. Winter Percussion still needs to pay $500.00; $100 for transportation and $400 for one meal. The other expense is the music from the Fall show, $2000.00. The estimated Income for the rest of the year is $7870.00. $2370.00 for busing using to Kamiak (1⁄2 of total) to be reimbursed by the school. Merch Sales of $500.00. Estimated Student Fees for $3000. Jazz on 3rd should hopefully bring in $2000. The estimated funds needed through end of the school year is $12,816.95. We are still working on some grants, but running into some new challenges on information requested.
- Director’s Report: Guard and percussion members will meet at Duniway at 8am on Thursday 4/11. Costume but no make-up or hair. Jazz performs on Saturday at 12:30pm, but they will stay through the 5pm concert and stop for dinner on the way home. Parade season is coming. Mac Band will be doing the Alien Day parade, Sheridan parade, and Carlton parade. Guard will start practicing on Saturdays in preparation for the parades.
- Committee updates
- Next bottle drive on is on 4/27. Andrea Milam reported that she is waiting on Harbor Freight, Wilco, Lowe’s, and Local Steel mill for sponsorships. Laurie is working on a couple other grants.
- No information from uniforms and props. The guard props just have to make it through one more performance.
- After the Alien Days parade, we will be having a picnic at West Hills Park. Mike McGinis will head up the grilling.
- Jazz on 3rd will be April 23rd. Volunteer opportunities are in the weekly email from Cassidy.
- Next Parent meeting is May 14th. We will be having elections for next year 24/25 Board. If you are willing to help out and serve on next years Band Parent Organization Board. We will be opening up nominations on May 14th during the Parent meeting. You can either nominate someone for a position or nominate yourself for one of the following positions; President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Communications. Officers start date is July 1, 2024 serve on Board until June 30, 2025. Elections will be at the June 11th meeting.
