Greetings Band Parents and Mac Band Supporters,
You have no doubt heard by now that NWAPA and WGI have canceled all events for the remainder of the season for both Winter Guard and Winter Percussion. I know that it’s disappointing for the kids not to be able to compete or even perform the show for their classmates. They put in a lot of hard work, time, and effort and should be proud of what they’ve accomplished.
This leaves us with an unexpected change in schedule and while we aren’t able to proceed as planned with some tasks that need to be done, we’re looking forward and figuring out the things we can do to get ready for late spring (parade time), summer (band camp), and fall (marching season). I’ll keep you updated as I learn more.

Jazz Concert
It was another great performance by the Jazz Band at the concert last Wednesday. You can tell that the group is having a lot of fun and the soloists are better each time I hear them. I was planning to snap a picture to include here, but was enjoying the music so much that it slipped my mind.

Bottle Drive
Thanks to all the Mac Band supporters who brought in their bags of bottles and cans on Saturday. I kind of lost track of how many we took in, but I know it was over 30 bags (or more than $200 worth).

Sponsorship Drive Continues
With not knowing how the next few weeks will play out, our fundraising situation is a bit up in the air. We have a couple events in the works for later in April that hopefully will take place (or possibly could be moved into May).
One thing that all of us can do now is to step up the Sponsorship Drive. The best source of sponsors is someone you know (and possibly work for). So please ask your employer if they might be willing to contribute to help support the band and your kids.
