Greetings Mac Band Parents and Supporters,

This Saturday, October 27th, the Mac Band will travel to Autzen Stadium in Eugene for their first ever appearance in the NWAPA Championships – Festival of Bands. Here are the things you should know:

We will load the trailer on Friday Night beginning after the halftime show. We will first load the front ensemble equipment and finish loading the uniforms and other instruments after the game

The band will perform rain or shine, and the current Saturday forecast says cloudy and 67 degrees.

As usual, anyone watching the show or helping get the band on the field must have a wristband. Everyone who volunteers will get a wristband and we will determine how many we need to purchase after we arrive.

Owen has created Volunteer Sign-up Forms for help with the Front Ensemble (moving equipment and instruments) and for setting up and taking down tents and you can access them here.

General Information about the Event

On Saturday morning, after eating a healthy breakfast (or packing something for the bus ride), students should arrive at the high school at 7:45 a.m. – buses will leave at 8:00 a.m. Estimated time of arrival in Eugene is 10:00 a.m. The band’s preliminary round performance will begin at 12:22 p.m. Band Parents will provide lunch after the performance. If the band does not make it into the finals, Band Parents will provide dinner around 5:00 p.m., the band will then watch the rest of the competition, leave Eugene around 10:00 p.m. and we estimate they will be back in McMinnville about midnight. (If the band does make it into the finals, we will adjust the schedule as needed.)

Uniforms will be transported in the trailer. All Band members must bring their marching shoes with them on the bus. They should wear all black socks, crew length or longer.

Spandex or sport shorts for under bibbers. No jeans or bulky clothes. T-shirts or long sleeve undershirts for under the uniform top. Not too bulky. For those who wear them, remember your gloves.

Please also be sure your kids bring warm clothes for the evening.
