News – July 28, 2019

Greetings Band Parents and Mac Band Supporters,

Things are starting to come together for Band Camp – which is now just a little over a week away. I’ve heard through the grapevine that students are eagerly anticipating camp or getting ready run panicking into the woods. Either way, we can look forward to a lot of energy from the kids.

The food committee will be meeting on Monday to divvy up the shopping list. If you are part of this, I assume you know the details. BIG THANKS to Melanie for organizing this very important part of camp!
.
On Tuesday evening, all parent/guardian band camp volunteers will be meeting at 7:00 p.m. to go over final Band Camp details, schedule, expectations, etc. We plan to meet in the Freshman Den at the high school (you can enter through the doors off of 15th street). Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

We are still in need of more chaperones and kitchen help for camp. If you can help in any way, please visit the Band Camp Volunteer Sign-up Sheet to add your name to the list. Even if you can only come down to help with one meal, we would love to have you there.

Also, if you will be helping out with the band, you will need to have an MSD Criminal History Verification Form on file with the district. It only takes a couple of minutes to fill out. See the Band Camp Web Page for more info about where to send it.

72 and Counting
About 100 students are expected to take part in this year’s Marching Band and Color Guard. We currently have 72 of them signed up on the Macband website. If you or your kids know of anyone who hasn’t yet signed up, please encourage them to get it done ASAP Here is the link to the Mac Band website to sign up for Marching Band.

Fair Share
Thanks to everyone who has made payments towards their Fair Share. Here is the link to make a payment for the Fair Share band fee.

New to the Mac Band website is a Student Log In where students (or their parents/guardians) can update or add to the student’s information and check on their Fair Share balance. If you need help getting logged in, send a message to [email protected].

We’ve Got Bottle Bags

Jesse has dropped off a bunch of the official blue Bottle Drop bags at Incahoots. There are still labels to be printed and attached to the bags before they are turned in, but we can now get started gathering up all those bottles and cans to make some money for the band. Feel free to stop by Incahoots (905 N Baker, 9:30 – 5:30 Mon-Sat) and pick up how many you need.
