News – January 27, 2019

Greetings Band Parents and Mac Band Supporters,

I can’t claim to have been to every Jazz Night event, but I have attended for the last 6 years, and to my knowledge, Saturday night saw the first ever standing ovation for a musical performance! The high school Jazz Band brought the audience to their feet with their funky rendition of Crunchy Frog. There was a wealth of other wonderful performances by all the other musicians as well and I hope you get out to hear any and all of them whenever you can. Our local kids are making some great music! Pictured here is an ensemble of band students with a lively take on the ELO tune “Mr. Blue Sky.”

Paint it Black – Update
Big thanks to the Drama Department for letting use the high school prop shop to do the painting for the Winter Guard props. We will need to be quick about though since there will be a class in there on Thursday and the Winter Guard Premier event is coming up on Saturday. Our plan is to meet at the school at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening and paint one side of the props and then come back on Tuesday evening to paint the other side. If you would like to join in this props painting party, please respond to this email or send me a text at 971-901-6477. THANKS!
